Summer Fun: Not – So – Short Stacks of Cookies

June 23, 2016   |   2 Comments

Disclosure: Post sponsored by Lunchbox but all opinions are my own. Please see below for additional disclosure.

There’s times in the summer when kids actually run out of things to do – surprisingly enough it happens when there’s still a lot of summer break left in the year.  The boys tell me they’re bored and need something to besides going swimming and riding they’re bikes.  It’s not too hard to believe though when the temperatures reach nearly 100 in Iowa and it’s pretty hard to even breath outside let alone play and run around.

Last week I was trying to come up with an activity for them to do – something I thought they’d really enjoy and not think Mom was just trying to get them read or color again.  We decided to have a contest with stacking cookies to see who could make the highest stack. The bonus with this activity was that they got to EAT they’re game after they were done. Here’s what we used!

Summer Fun: Not - So - Short Stacks of Cookies

Head over to your nearest Kroger’s to pick up these three ingredients and get started on this challenge today!!

Peppridge Farms Chessman Cookies

Smucker’s Simple Delight Topping

Reddi – Wip

This was pretty easy to do – start with a Peppridge Farms Chessman Cookie on the bottom with a layer of chocolate Smucker’s Simple Delight Toppings.  Continue with these layers until you think you can’t do any more.  The person with the most cookies wins!!  When you’re ready to eat these as a snack – top with Reddi – Wip!

Trust me – you’re kids are going to LOVE this activity not just because it’s fun but it’s so delicious too!

Summer Fun: Not - So - Short Stacks of Cookies

Do you have a Kroger’s near by?  I’m excited to tell you about a fun sweepstakes they have going on this summer.  By simply creating your Not-So-Short Stack masterpiece and sharing it in social media with the hashtag #notsoshortstacksweepstakes you have a chance to win $100!!
Summer Fun: Not - So - Short Stacks of Cookies

Grab these three ingredients next time you’re shopping at Kroger and see just how high your kids can stack them up!  Our tallest was 21 cookies high!  Sadly, it crashed and we had to devour the cookies and toppings – ok maybe that’s NOT so sad!

This does sound like fun for my grandchildren. I love Chessmen cookies but they are out of them more than they are in stock at the Moulton Walmart. Love your recipes!
