I can’t believe that I’m talking about ways to have Summer fun with teens, I mean – how can my baby be that old?
Let’s face it though, we’re past the years of spending hours swinging at the park, playing in the sandbox and taking long walks in the stroller. If I want to get my kids attention with fun activities that speak their language – I have to mention amusement parks, thrill rides and of course food.
When I mentioned Valley Fair, I was instantly the coolest Mom around. The boys talk for days ahead a time about all the rides they’re going to ride, who’s sitting with who, the food they want to eat, at much more. The week leading up to the visit to Valley Fair is almost as much fun – almost.
Valley Fair has something for everyone with everything from my boys favorite thrill ride, High Roller to Soak City Waterpark where you can spend the day cooling off in the water.
Plus, there’s Dinosaurs Alive, Planet Snoopy and tons of family rides for everyone. There’s dinosaurs all over the park that move and make noise too, I love this big guy at the front of the park!Dinosaurs Alive has more than 30 life-sized, moving animatronic dinosaurs allow guests of all ages to engage in a unique learning experience.
Besides just the fun of visiting Valley Fair, I surprised them by having a couple of their friends from their old school meet us for the day. They had a blast and it was like they had just been on the bus together, they didn’t miss a beat in their friendship.
They had a great time in the carnival alley playing games and winning prizes! I think we ended up taking home several stuffed animals that the kids won. They had a blast!
My favorite part of the day, was watching them get soaked! The Wave is a huge boat that goes down one hill, you are guaranteed to get soaked! My little guy thought it was small enough to duck under the water, but no such luck! They were all drenched and loving it!
If you’re in Minnesota or a surrounding state, I would recommend adding Valley Fair to your list of MUST do this summer. Trust me, your kids will LOVE you for it!
There are several different event coming up at Valley Fair too:
Hotdish & Hops on June 18 & 19th – this sounds awesome! I wish we could go back!
Corn Feast Labor Day Weekend
Fun times at Valleyfair! Thanks again!
