Summer Learning Ideas for Kids

May 7, 2015   |   3 Comments

We’ve started the last month of the school year, I cannot believe how fast this year flew by!  Wow! I need to start planning our summer activities for the kids and I don’t mean just trips to the pool and beach.  I like to have some educational activities for the boys too, it seems like they always end up loosing a little bit during the summer months when it comes to learning.  It’s really important to us that we have activities to keep them on the right track for fall and not end up behind on their studies.

This year we’re trying something new.  On June 22nd they’ll begin a new adventure that’s not only fun and exciting but will keep them learning with Brain Chase.  Now, don’t think that we’re all crazy with learning and my boys don’t get to have fun and just have to learn.  That’s simply not the case, that’s why I picked Brain Chase.  It’s fun and learning all together, the kids hardly even realize they’re learning because they have such a great time.

Summer Learning Ideas for Kids to prevent learning loss!

Just an hour of online learning each day unlocks exciting Brain Chase episodes, filled with clues and secrets leading to the real-life Sunstone of Cortés – and the $10,000 scholarship prize!  Seriously!  A chance to win a $10,000 scholarship!  Awesome!

More Details

Kids get to drop a pin on a virtual map every 24 hours with their guess to the location of the treasure and throughout the program they are mailed 3 mystery packages to help solve bonus challenges.

The first student to use the clues and find the treasure (within a 2 mile radius) will get to actually go dig it up!  How awesome is that?!

Another cool feature to Brain Chase is their recent partnership with Rosetta Stone!  All Brain Chase registrants now have the opportunity to participate in a language model as part of their online work. If they pick Rosetta Stone it will replace the writing module! Students will be required to complete two lessons each week to fullfill their language requirement and unlock the next episode.  They will be able to pick from 30+ languages!

Teacher Referral Program

Brain Chase is offering $15 to teachers for each of their students they refer to Brain Chase. Registrants who hear about Brain Chase from a teacher can simply enter that teacher’s name and school name at registration. Kids fight summer brain drain to win a treasure… and teachers win too!

We discovered an amazing summer learning program called Brain Chase. It’s a 5-week learning challenge that is fun, customizable, structured, and motivating for children. It’s a real treasure hunt that has a grand prize of $10,000! The program partners with Kahn Academy, Rosetta Stone, myON, google books, and even real teachers. We are totally doing it!
