The 10 Minute Weekly Meal Planning

April 27, 2017   |   Leave a Comment

This way of meal planning is going to change your life completely. By taking 10 minutes every Sunday to plan out your week, you’ll be better prepared and know exactly what you’ll be cooking every single day of the week. Let’s get started!

My secrets to meal planning made easy are really simple and it might sound silly at first but I promise it will make planning a breeze. Start by making a list of meal themes for every single day of the week, we’re not talking about party themes either but menu themes such as Mexican Monday, Slow Cooker Tuesday, Kids Pick Wednesday, etc.

I think having a weekly schedule is easiest but if you like change a little more, have a two-week theme menu. We have a printable below for you to use or come up with your own ideas.

The next big part of this process is to have your list of recipes or your recipe book handy so that you can quickly plug in the recipes to the day you want to make them. If you’re like me, you have a combination of cookbooks, online recipes and pieces of cut out recipes from everywhere you’ve found recipes that I want to try making.

If you’re looking for places to find some great recipes to try I would suggest searching Pinterest, blogs you love or by googling the theme you’re looking for. There are so many online recipes, you’re sure to find tons of inspiration or recipes to make!

I’d like to say I have this beautiful binder filled with recipes, which I used to have, but now I have so much more that I like to make! This will be my next project!! Ha!

Use a Menu Planning Calendar and place a Theme on every day. Next, select a recipe that falls into that them and stick it into the calendar too.

Are you wondering how this makes things easier yet? Not only do you know what type of meal you’ll be making every day, you also will know that you’re not making something similar back to back.

This is one of the hardest pieces of meal planning for me, I struggle with not making pasta three nights a week or chicken four times a week. I know what type of food I’ll make every day instead of trying to make something on the fly that isn’t going to be just like what we had last night.

Here is our Dinner Menu Theme List that we’ve made into a FREE printable for you to use along with a Weekly Menu Plan that will get your weekly meal plan made easily! Click Here to Subscribe
