Tips For Decorating Your Deck

May 9, 2016   |   4 Comments

One of my favorite parts of summer is creating a warm and inviting space outside where I can host friends and family.  We have a couple great tips to help you make your deck feel like it’s an extra room of your house with some decorating ideas and our favorite Monrovia plants! Check out the tips for decorating your deck below!

Tips for Decorating Your Deck

Tips for Decorating Your Deck

The Seating – One of the most important tips for creating a beautiful and relaxing deck space is to add comfy and cute seating.  I have a love seat, chairs and coffee table that really make the space feel like it’s an outdoor living room.  Add some colorful throw pillows that give the space a pop of color and you’re ready to relax or entertain!

Tips for Decorating Your Deck

Add Beautiful Flowers – The best way to decorate your deck and make it feel cozy and warm is to add color with some fresh plants.  I’ve found that it really helps to tie the outside and inside together to create a relaxing space that you’ll want to spend all summer in!

I make sure that I pick up flowers and plants that I know are good quality and will hold up, because I’m not blessed with a green thumb! I usually stick with Monvoria because I’ve had such great luck with them in the past. Monrovia is a trusted grower of quality plants for gardens and outdoor space of all sizes and styles.  I usually find Monrovia plants at Lowes and Earl May.

Tips for Decorating Your Deck

Decorate like it’s inside – Just because it’s the deck, doesn’t mean you have to decorate with citronella candles and garden statues.  Bring more of the inside out with candles and decor that will hold up to the elements!

Tips for Decorating Your Deck

Add a Rug – It always amazes me how much just adding a rug to the space makes it feel so cozy and relaxing.  There are so many different outdoor rug options that look like they belong in the house!  I love this yellow rug that I found, it really accents the pillows and decor nicely!

Tips for Decorating Your Deck

Invite Your Friends and Family – Fill the space with friends, family and even fluffy white puppies! Nothing makes a space more warm and inviting than filling it with happiness and those you love! You’re sure to have a fabulous summer!

Tips for Decorating Your Deck

Be sure to check out the Monrovia website to see all the different plants and flowers that they offer and get inspired to create your own beautiful deck space! Check HERE to see where Monrovia plants are sold in your area!

My husband is planning on adding a deck onto our house. thanks for the advice about how we can decorate our deck like its outside with some candles and a rug. Before we can decorate though we’ll have to try and find a contractor or someone to come and help us build our deck.
