Traveling has always been good for my soul and now it’s something my whole family loves. My love for travel has been passed onto my kids, which is great. Heading to Colorado Springs is on the agenda and we’re all excited! While vacationing in Colorado Springs, it’s important that I have plenty of places for the kids to burn off their energy. Luckily, there is plenty to see and do while in this amazing town. Check out some of our favorite family travel ideas!
Family Travel in Colorado Springs
Manitou Springs
Not only are there lots of places to stay in Manitou Springs, there is plenty to explore. This has always been one of my favorite locations to travel to in Colorado Springs. There are 8 Mineral Spring Fountains in town, which means lots of exploring for the whole family. Of course, hitting the trails is one of our favorite activities. Grab a cup of coffee or something to eat to help give you plenty of energy to chase those kids around.
Pikes Peak
In Colorado Springs, one of the best things the family can do is head to Pikes Peak. 14, 115 feet of awesomeness. Pikes Peak gets over 500,000 visitors a year and the view is spectacular. The kids are going to be excited to be up so high, seeing views that they can’t get anywhere else. Check it out the next time you’re in Colorado Springs.
Fox Run Regional Park
A tradition we have, when visit different states is checking out the parks. One of our favorite parks, in Colorado Springs, is Fox Run Regional Park. We grab food from a local restaurant and have a picnic in the park, it’s a lot of fun. This leaves lots of time for the kids to run around and burn off some of that built up energy. Our whole family enjoys hiking, so this park is a win-win for us all. You’ll find plenty of parks located around Colorado Springs you can check out.
The Colorado Climbing Company
As my kids get older, I’m always looking for ways to help them explore, but also have fun. Since they are older, The Colorado Climbing Company is right up our ally. The beautiful thing about Colorado is that there is so much to climb. It’s a beautiful state and climbing allows you to see landmarks and natural beauty that you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else.
It’s safe to say that Colorado Springs is a family friendly location. We love to vacation together, so it makes sense to visit this awesome city as much as possible. Whether you have toddlers or teens, there’s plenty to do for everyone. There is only one thing left to do and that’s to come visit Colorado Springs for yourself.
