Finding ways to update your bathroom is easier than you think. There are so many different ideas and things you can do to give it a clean up and new feel without spending thousands of dollars. Last week we had guests from out of town staying with us so I did a quick redo in the guest bathroom to make it feel clean and cozy for them. Here are just a couple of ideas that I did.
Easy Ideas for Updating Your Bathroom
Just Create a Clean Space
Simply doing a deep clean in the bathroom will make a huge difference. Organize the counters with little things that accent and are also functional. Try to get rid of the decorations that gather dust and have no purpose. The bathroom will look simple and well put together.
Simple Things Make a Difference
You don’t have to go out and buy a big cabinet to store things in or decorations that are specially made for bathrooms. Think outside the box and use items from around the house to decorate and store items in. This egg basket was something I had picked up at a second had shop, it ended up being the perfect little basket for holding extra rolls of toilet paper beside the stool.
I also had this small cupcake stand from the kitchen that works great for little soaps for guests to use. I love having individual soaps so they know they’re clean and fresh for them.
Repurpose old Items
Try repurposing old items and make them into things you need. I had an old bench that was a really ugly brown color, I simply painted it and added a new fabric on top. Now, it’s a cute bench in the bathroom for guests to set their clothes or hygiene items on while they’re getting ready.
Update Your Shower Fixtures
Another great idea for updating your bathroom is installing new shower fixtures like this awesome Waterpik showerhead. Bathroom improvements are simple ways to make a big impact on your home and updating your showerhead is one of the best ways to get started. Change out your current showerhead for a new Waterpik® showerhead. Installation is simple and takes about 5 minutes – no plumber or special tools needed.
Unlike any showerhead on the market, SprayShaper allows for a completely customizable experience with a unique design featuring moveable panels – putting the therapeutic power of water at your command. Move the panels inward to shape the spray to a concentrated PowerSpray or for a total body experience, simply move outward, or up and down
SprayShaper is the newest innovation from Waterpik® showerheads that delivers a powerful shower experience, available exclusively at The Home Depot and HomeDepot.com

Hey Chrissy,
Excellent Blogpost. I especially liked the images you used.. what camera did you use? Anyways, keep up the good work!
Thanks
John Smith
Just bought a new house, needed a hand-held shower head, and wanted it to look nice. So I tried Moen (returned it), considered Delta, and visited several stores trying to find a shower head.
I like that you can adjust the showehead however you want to best meet your needs
Our bathroom needs a huge update, but it’s not in the budget anytime soon. This would be a nice little luxury to add to it until we are able to overhaul it!
I’d love to have this showerhead for both a quick update and because I love its features. A nice warm therapeutic spray at the end of the day! 🙂
You bathroom so so lovely and your bench is just perfect! We are in the process of remodeling our master bathroom and it needs quite a bit of love!
we will be gutting out master bath in the near future, this would go great in it.
What an awesome shower head!! I would love to have something like this. Our shower head sprays so ineffectively and I’d love to have more options.
Also, thanks for sharing the Moscato Strawberry Lemonade recipe – what a great combo!!
Love the cupcake stand idea, Chrissy. Your bathroom is so nice.
Thanks so much, Megan! That’s so sweet!
Oh my gosh, that shower head looks seriously amazing! It also kind of looks like something I might find at the Jetsons’ house! 😉
I love your simple bathroom update ideas – especially the cupcake holder with clean soaps. Well, I like the egg basket idea, too. Oh yeah, and “decorations that gather dust and have no purpose,” not in my bathroom but just in my whole house, I’ve been on a mission to get rid of those kinds of things. I’ve just gotten sick of dealing with so many odds and ends. #downwithknickknacks Hahaha!
