We just got back from a little vacation that we took to Phoenix, Arizona to visit my hubby’s parents. They became snow birds this year so we wanted to head down and see how they were doing and what they’re new winter life looked like.
I had just gotten a new camera, Panasonic LUMIX G7, so it made the trip with us so that I could play around with this awesome new toy.
To be completely honest, I love taking indoor photos of food that doesn’t move around on me. I can usually make those photos shine and really look awesome but taking photos of the outdoors and especially my kids that move around on me, has never been something I was very good at.
I’m practicing and working to get better and I’m so lucky I came across this new camera because it really helps make taking photos a lot easier.
Check out some of our photos below as well as my vacation photo taking tips!
#1 Just Start Taking Photos – seriously, the more you take, the easier it will get. I carried my Lumix G6 with me everywhere we went. It didn’t leave my side and I snapped photos of everything.
Things I didn’t even think would turn out to be anything worth keeping, like this cactus photo below. It’s so pretty and will always remind me of our trip.
One tip I do have though, let someone else take some of the photos too, otherwise you end up with a trip that has no photos of yourself in it. Which can be good and bad. 🙂
#2 Let the Kids be Kids – Let them get active and take photos of them jumping and having fun! This Panasonic LUMIX G7 is built just for that! You can take video with this camera and with the 4K Photo Mode, you’re able to take a 4K video and then pull still photos out of that video to ensure you always get the perfect shot.
Never again will you be just a second too late when trying to get that perfect photo of your family. Literally all I had to do was turn on the 4K Mode and press the shutter button to start and stop the video. Every frame of the video was captured so that I could go through and pick which frames to save as photos!
#3 Take a Great Camera – I mean, you’re paying for a vacation that you want to create memories and have a lifetime. Why not invest in a good camera that will help you preserve those memories?
I cannot tell you the difference that I’ve found in cameras, after using this Panasonic LUMIX G7 I know which camera will be going on vacation with us all the time. It’s a lightweight camera that shoots amazing photos, video and so much more! Total win!
