Vapor Rub DIY Shower Bombs

January 13, 2017   |   Leave a Comment

We have gone from being sick with the flu to having terrible head colds to coughing all in a matter of weeks. Winter is a tough time of year with all the germs and bugs the kids pick up at school, shopping, church, really anywhere you turn.

Being in Iowa, we can’t open the windows and air out the house when the temperatures are below zero so we’re left to deal with being sick – A LOT.

Because cold medications have so many side effects, we try to find natural ways to combat an awful cough, sore throats, runny nose and more. We like to use hot tea, Vapor Rub DIY Shower Bombs, Vapor Bath Soak and the line of Maty’s Healthy Products.

Vapor Rub DIY Shower Bombs

I decided to make a few Vapor Rub DIY Shower Bombs to have on hand when a cold strikes. What I love about these are that they’re made from natural ingredients that you may already have on hand at home! Not to mention, they take minutes to make.

These would be a great gift to make for friends or family who are under the weather. Put together a Cold Gift Basket with tissue, Shower Bombs, Chicken Noodle soup and anything else they might need but not be able to leave the house to pick up!

How to Make Vapor Rub DIY Shower Bombs

Ingredients You Need

  • 1 Tablespoon Maty’s Vapor Rub
  • 1/2 Cup Corn Starch
  • 2 teaspoons Water

Instructions

Using a small bowl, mix together all ingredients until you are able to form a small shower bomb with your fingers.  You may need to add more water, add a small amount at a time if needed. Form into a small ball and let them dry on wax paper.

To use, place them on the floor of your shower and let the water break up the ball while you’re showering.
