Ways To Get Your Kids Active This Summer

Today I am excided to have Kathia from Fit Into My Red Shoes sharing a post about Ways to Get Your Kids Active This Summer.   I love finding ideas other than video games and television for my boys to do while they are on summer vacation.  Staying active and being outside is very important!  You can find her post with tips listed below. 

There are so many things that Moms can do to remain active and entertain the kids at the same time!! Putting aside the fact that exercising is beneficial for everybody and that the earlier you start your children in the habit of staying active, the sooner they will get motivated and may grow to enjoy it and do it on their own, it is also a great way to create a bond with them and to encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle.

Below is a list of some simple activities that you can do either inside or outside, which will create fun times and give both of you amazing benefits:

  • Swimming
  • Planking
  • Hiking yoga
  • Hanging from rings
  • Bike or scooter riding
  • Running/racing

If you choose to go outside, make sure that you check the weather report both you and child are hydrated, dress appropriately and utilizing SPF. 

Please keep in mind that because you are also in charge of your little one, safety must be kept at all times.  Give yourself enough time to prepare for the activity and be patient with yourself and your child while performing the activity.  There is no need to rush or drain yourself from energy.  Any physical activity, even though for health benefits, should be enjoyed and cherished by mommy and child.  Have fun and remain healthy!!!
