Week 6 Photography Course: Birthday Party! #Grillingishappiness #SoFabU

August 12, 2012   |   10 Comments

Birthday Grill out Party!
Sear's Grilling, SoFabU, Grilling Is Happiness, Birthday Grillout, Hot Dogs, Cupcakes
This week is week six of my online photography class with Sear’s Grilling and SoFabU.  Last weeks assignment was plating and lighting so I used alot of those tips on this weeks project.  Our assignment for the week was to use the skills that we have learned and throw a backyard party.  The timing was perfect with my little guy’s birthday on Thursday.

We had a little family birthday celebration.

We found some cute Happy Birthday plates and just placed them on top of some red dinner plates that I already had.
My son wanted hot dogs and watermelon, which was pretty easy to put together for him!

He got a HUGE bouquet of balloons from his Aunt and Uncle so we used those as a one of our decorations out back.

The perfect summer birthday menu:
Hot dogs
Watermelon
Chips
Cupcakes

What birthday party doesn’t have cupcakes?  My little guy requested a simple homemade cupcake with white frosting and sprinkles.  I used lifesavers in the center for the candles {this idea was on the cake mix box}.

I loved that it was birthday number seven and they all fit perfectly on my cake stand!  ADORABLE!

It was a beautiful evening and the grilled hot dogs were delicious {thanks Sears!}!

Blowing out the candles and making a birthday wish!

The lifesavers are such a cute idea to add to cupcakes. They frame those candles perfectly.
