tomato juice

undrained (15–16 ounces)

packet chili seasoning
or homemade option

Instructions
Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
Add the tomato juice, chili beans, and chili seasoning. Stir well.
Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.
Cook uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Notes
To use homemade seasoning, replace the chili seasoning packet with the spice blend listed above.
For thicker chili, use 1 ½ cups tomato juice.
For thinner chili, stir in an extra ¼ to ½ cup tomato juice.
This chili can also be made in the slow cooker on low for 4 to 6 hours.
