1

olive oil or melted butter
½

garlic powder
½
teaspoon
Italian seasoning
1
cup

24
slices
pepperoni
2
cups
shredded mozzarella cheese
2
tablespoons
grated Parmesan cheese
optional
chopped parsley
optional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Slice the French bread in half lengthwise. Cut each half in half again if you want 4 smaller pizza boats.
Scoop out a little of the soft bread center to make room for the toppings.
Brush the cut sides with olive oil or melted butter.
Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 3 to 5 minutes, until lightly toasted.
Remove from the oven and spread the pizza sauce over each piece.
Top with pepperoni and shredded mozzarella cheese.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if using.
Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is crisp around the edges.
Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Pre-baking the bread helps keep the pizza boats crisp.
French bread works best because it is sturdy enough for the toppings.
Swap the pepperoni for sausage, mushrooms, olives, or diced peppers if you like.
Broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end for extra golden cheese.
