How to Make Simple Yummy Pizza Boats
These Pizza Boats are going to be your NEW go-to recipe when you're in a hurry! Do your kids love and request pizza all the time? Do you feel like you are always making a new pizza recipe but have gotten burnt out with all the same ideas? We tried a new version of pizza by making Pizza Boats. My boys thought these were so cool and delicious and it is now in my arsenal of easy recipes.
These were simple to make by using some French bread and the rest of our regular pizza fixings. You could also use plain hot dog buns to make these too. We always seem to have one or two buns left over so this would use those up and make an easy lunch for a couple children.
My boys would love to take these in their school lunch too, a unique and delicious option instead of the normal peanut butter and jelly that they grow tired off.
You could also make these for a birthday party, let the kids pick their toppings and make their own.
How to Make Pizza Boats
Ingredients
- French Bread
- Pizza Sauce
- Pepperoni
- Cheese
Instructions
Step 1 - Cut your French bread in half and spread the pizza sauce on each piece
Step 2 - Add your pepperoni or desired toppings to the French bread
Step 3 - Top with lots of cheese!
Step 4 - Bake at 400 for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is all melted and the bread toasted
This recipe can easily be changed to fit your likings! If sausage is your favorite, add it in place of the pepperoni. If you love mushrooms, be sure to throw those on too! You can't go wrong with the toppings you add to these pizza boats.
My boys have even made a small version of these using leftover hot dog buns! They're great to make out camping too, simply place them in tin foil and grill them over the fire! They end up being an ooey gooey delicious meal!
