It’s the first week of January and I’ve set some new goals that involve eating better and working out.
Stay with me, I know what you’re thinking. I haven’t been known for really healthy recipes, in fact I like my butter. Maybe a little too much. But here’s the thing, my job means that I sit on my behind a lot of hours during the day.
I also have a family history of heart disease, which is kind of scary, my Dad has 27 stents in his heart! Not even kidding! This is not just amazing but kind of scary. It’s time to make a change!
I have some healthier recipes that I’m going to be sharing with you this year like this Lemon Herb Vinaigrette. What I’ve found is that just because it’s healthier for you doesn’t mean it’s going to taste bad! In fact, a lot of times the recipe is pretty darn delicious!
How to Make Lemon Herb Vinaigrette
Ingredients You Need
- 1/4 Cup Thrive Culinary Algae Oil
- 2 Tablespoons Red Wine
- 3 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 Clove Fresh Garlic, Minced

- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper
Instructions
Place all the ingredients in a Mason jar, place the lid on and shake well. Top your favorite salad or marinate chicken breasts in this!
I love this Lemon Herb Vinaigrette dressing! It’s light, delicious and the perfect topping for my salads at lunch! I’ve even used it on my Mason Jar Salads and it works GREAT!
I also have a chicken recipe that I’ll be sharing next week where I used this Lemon Herb Vinaigrette. Be sure to watch for that!
I wanted to tell you about this Thrive Culinary Algae Oil that I’ve started using. I’ve been doing some reading and found that it’s actually the best oil for your heart. That means it’s a great option for my Dad and for me! Thrive has the highest level of Monounsaturated fat (the good fat), and the lowest saturated fat per serving. In fact one serving has as much monounsaturated fat as an avocado!
Thrive Algae Oil is perfect for everyday cooking because it has a neutral flavor profile and a high smoke point. This makes it great for sauteing, searing, frying, baking and making salad dressing and marinades. It’s just an all around great oil!
