Peanut Butter Blossoms with #Truvia

December 21, 2014   |   Leave a Comment

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Truvia.

One of our favorite Christmas Cookies that we make EVERY single year are Peanut Butter Blossoms or Peanut Butter Chocolate Star Cookies.  I think they have a few different names.  I remember making these with my Mom when I was younger and now they are my boys favorite cookie too.  They don’t necessarily have to be a Christmas Cookie but for some reason when I make my Christmas Baking List, they are always the first one I put down.  The cookie trays just wouldn’t be the same without them!

This year I tried using my Truvia Brown Sugar Blend in them to cut back on some of the calories and I was very pleased with the way they came out!  I love finding that I can use a new product in my traditional recipes!  Check out the recipe below!

How to Make Peanut Butter Blossoms with Truvia

Ingredients

  •  1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Truvia Brown Sugar Blend
  • 1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 Cup Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • Chocolate Stars
  • Extra Sugar for rolling

Instructions

Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Step 2 – Cream together the butter, peanut butter, Truvia Brown Sugar Blend and Sugar

Step 3 – In a separate bowl mix the flour, soda and powder together

Step 4 – Slowly add the flour mixture to the peanut butter mixture

Step 5 – Form 1 inch balls and roll int he extra sugar, place 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet (I use Silpat on mine)

Step 6 – Bake for 8-10 minutes and pull out of the oven with the edges start to brown.  Place a chocolate star in the middle of the cookie.  Enjoy!

These cookies freeze really well too, I like to make mine a few weeks before Christmas so that I have them ready to go.
