1/2 Cup Butter, softened
12 Cup Shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
or 1 cup chips and 1 cup mini M&M’s

1. | Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). |
2. | Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Stir in flour salt, baking soda, and chips. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans. |
3. | Bake for about 8 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned. |

Can’t wait to try the 1/2 shortening and 1/2 butter tip! Just thought I’d let you know that the / didn’t show up for work in the 1/2 cup shortening – naturally only a simpleton wouldn’t know it meant 1/2 and not 12 cups, but as a busy as a bee blogger who has had this sort of thin happen to her more than once – I thought I’d just let you know.
I’m always VERY thankful when people point out when a letter pulls a “no show” or when an extra one shows up, uninvited!
