Easy Recipe: Taco Salad and Giveaway

This post is brought to you by SmartPlanet.

Taco salad is one of my easy recipes that I make on a regular basis for my family.  They love it and I love how easy it is to make.

I often find myself making the meat up in the morning when I am cleaning the kitchen and then putting it in the crockpot on low for the day so that I have it ready to go for lunch or supper.  It’s so handy to make the meat this way.

My boys love Taco Salad because they can decide what fixings they want on their salad, they make it themselves and are sure to love it that way!

  • Cheese
  • Tomatoes
  • Onion
  • Cilantro
  • Salsa
  • Ranch
  • Sour Cream

Instructions

Step 1 – Brown your beef and once it is fully cooked add the Taco seasoning and water.  Let it simmer for a few minutes.  (after this I put the meat in a crockpot until we are ready to eat)

Step 2 – Make your Tacos!  Put all the ingredients together into one big delicious salad.  I like to start with the chips, then meat and cheese with the vegies on top.

Step 3 – Add your dressings.  I love Ranch on my Taco’s so I put a lot on!  That’s it!  They are so easy to make!  Taco Salad is even easy to take on the go to school or work.

We had the chance to try out the Smart Planet Collapsible Deluxe Salad Bowl and it works great for taking meals like this with you on the go.

I love how this salad bowl is completely collapsible and can hold a ton or a little bit of food.  When you pack your Taco Salad in this bowl, you can start with your base of the salad in it with it being small and then when you want to mix everything together you can expand the bowl so there is room for the toppings.

It also comes with it’s own fork and little container for your dressings which is very convenient!  The lid has a three snaps to hold it shut and it has a great seal, so there is no worry of anything falling out.

I love how handy this bowl is for taking lunch on the go!  The Smart Planet Collapsible Soup & Salad bowl is made of silicone material, so it’s flexible and reusable. Way better than using baggies or cheap plastic containers that have to be thrown away after a few uses. It’s thick flexible material so I’m not worried about it breaking.

  1. This collapsible salad bowl is an excellent idea — how I could have used half-a-dozen when all my children were in school. I’d love to win one now just for me. 😉 Thanks for the opportunity.

  2. I love your idea of just letting the meat cook in the crockpot all day! Such an easy meal that becomes – just chop everything up and you have it!

I am such a sucker for containers like that. I’ve bough about a million different containers to pack my step-daughter’s lunches in, but I love how that one collapses!
