Honey Mustard Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich

May 28, 2018   |   Leave a Comment

One of our favorite and easy to make meals any time of year is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich! We have one little trick though to make it AMAZING, by adding Ken’s brand new Dijon Honey Mustard dressing to our sandwich. This one little addition will take your grilled cheese from good to FABULOUS!! Check out our tips on making the best grilled cheese sandwich ever!

Grilled cheese has always been one of those comfort foods that we make. I can remember many times when I was younger and home with a cold, my Mom would make these for me. Her version was just cheese though and nothing else.

When I got to be an adult and started to create my own recipes and meals, I started to experiment and found that it was really yummy to add ham and then the honey mustard. You just can’t go wrong with this flavor combination!

How to Make Honey Mustard Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients You Need

  • Four slices of white bread (any bread will work for this)
  • six slices of honey ham
  • 2 pieces of Provolone cheese
  • Ken’s Dijon Honey Mustard Dressing
  • Butter

Serving Size: 2 Sandwiches

Instructions

Start by buttering the outside of your pieces of bread, these are the sides that will be touching the pan. Next, spread the Ken’s Dijon Honey Mustard on the opposite side of the bread. Layer the ham and cheese before topping with the second piece of bread. Cook until the bread is a crispy brown color. We use extra Ken’s dressing to dip our sandwich in!

The Dijon Honey Mustard has a little tang from the dijon and sweetness from the honey, it’s a creamy dressing that’s got just the right amount of kick to it!

I love using Ken’s Steak House dressings in my recipes, they’re packed with amazing flavor that elevates my recipes to the next level! I have found that the Dijon Honey Mustard dressing is a bit sweeter than a standard honey mustard and really creates an amazing grilled ham and cheese sandwich!

Ken’s Steak House dressing came out with new flavors recently including this Dijon Honey Mustard but there’s also a Garlic Parmesan, Vinaigrette Asian and Vinaigrette Garlic Basil flavors. These are a wonderful addition to Ken’s dressings, with 60 different flavors there’s something for everyone!

Tips for Making the PERFECT Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Try using homemade bread of a loaf from the bakery, there is definitely a difference in the type of bread you use! We’ve used English muffins, rolls, and croissants too! They all work really well!

The standard procedure for grilled cheese is to butter the outside of the bread, but we’ve found that mayo works really well too and gives the sandwich a whole new flavor!

Don’t use too much cheese, otherwise, you end up with a mushy mess! Try to find a cheese that melts well too!

Dress it up like we did, add ham and honey mustard to your sandwich!

Cook the sandwich on a low heat, low and slow is the best way to get the perfect grilled cheese!
