I was given a free one month subscription to Weight Watchers to try their new Simple
Start plan and write about my experience.Though I was compensated for my time and
commitment, all views, positive and negative, are my own.
The last week has really flown by, to be completely honest, I did really well with watching what I was eating because I ended up with H1N1. So, I had a lot of Chicken Noodle Soup, Smoothies and maybe a jar of pickles. I know, that’s not a completely healthy menu but when you feel like you may die, you’re lucky to get anything down.
Today is the first day that I have been back on my feet and able to make a meal for myself and I was craving an Egg Salad sandwich. I found an amazing recipe to try with the Simple Start App, you can find the recipe below.
Update on using Weight Watchers Simple Start
Since I’ve been under the weather, this isn’t a great week to give an update on how I’m doing but the days that I have been well, I’ve loved the simplicity of the program. I love that there are so many delicious and amazing looking recipes that will calculate the points for me. Plus, I can pull up the app while I’m out grocery shopping and pick the meals I want to make. I know which ingredients that I need to get and how many points that meal will use. Love it!
When I find a recipe to try with the Simple Start App, I find a beautiful photo of the recipe as well as a detailed list of ingredients. You can see an example below.
My goal of eating healthier this year is definitely on track and actually going better than I could have planned. Finding recipes that taste delicious and not like diet food where I feel like I’m missing out, makes a huge difference! It’s easy to eat healthy when you find food that you enjoy eating that’s a healthier option!
One of these recipes being the Healthy Egg Salad Sandwich Recipe that’s loaded with red onion and peppers. I’ve never made egg salad this way but it’s delicious!
Area’s I Need to Work On
First off, I need to get back into a regular exercise routine. I was walking every day until winter hit here in MN and now, I’m hibernating in my warm house. I need to start walking at the gym or on our treadmill, but activity must start happening!
I also really need to work on drinking more water and less coffee/soda. I have a pitcher that I am filling every day and I need to make sure I drink the entire amount before I go to bed at night each night. This is a great way for me to make sure I get my daily water intake, I need to make sure I do it every day!
Be sure to check back over the next week for more delicious Healthy Recipe ideas and updates on how I’m doing with the Simple Start program!
