A couple weeks ago, I shared some tips on summer meal planning to keep your budget on track while the kids are off school. One of the tips was to use the Walmart MoneyCard® Reloadable Prepaid Visa® Card, part of the Visa Clear Prepaid program, to help avoid over spending, and over the last month I’ve used this method myself and wanted to give you a quick update as well as a delicious and easy recipe that we made with the groceries we bought!
Meal planning and sticking to a budget doesn’t mean that you have to starve during the summer. I’ve found that making more homemade snacks and meals, like these Parmesan Cheese Bread Sticks, really helps to cut down on spending. Plus, they are so delicious and easy to make – even my kids can make them!
How to Make Homemade Parmesan Cheese Bread Sticks
Ingredients You Need
- Refrigerator Pizza Crust (or make our homemade recipe)
- 2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 Cup Parmesan Cheese
- 1 Tablespoon melted Butter
- Garlic Salt
- Italian Seasoning
Step 1 – Spread the pizza dough out onto a cookie sheet or pizza pan, depending on the shape you want to make
Step 2 – Using a brush, spread the melted butter over the crust
Step 3 – Add the cheeses on top
Step 4 – Sprinkle the garlic salt and Italian Seasoning over the cheese
Step 5 – Bake for 25 minutes or until it’s browned
We use ranch as a dipping sauce for our cheese sticks, but you could use a marinara sauce too.
