Lemon Bars Recipe

If you had to guess my favorite dessert, what would you say?  I'm guessing that most of my regular readers know that I'm obsessed with lemon.  I remember making lemon bars when I was in middle school and high school when I lived at home.

This Lemon Bars Recipe is one of my very favorites!  They're so delicious!

 How to Make Lemon Bars

Ingredients You Need

  •  ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Sticks Butter, softened
  • 2 ½ Cups Flour
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • ⅓ Cup Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Zest
  • ½ Teaspoon Baking Powder

Instructions

Step 1 - Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees and grease a 9x13 baking pan

Step 2 - Cream the powdered sugar and butter together in a stand mixer until it's light and fluffy.  Add 2 cups of the flour and bead until mixed.

Step 3 - Press the flour mixture into the bottom of the 9x13 pan and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown

Step 4 - Beat the eggs, sugar, lemon juice and zest in a large bowl.  Add the remaining ½ cup of flour and baking powder into the mixture and mix well.

Step 5 - Pour over the crust and return to the oven to bake for an additional 20 minutes.

Step 6 - Cool and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

Just look at that creamy lemon filling, these are amazing.  I honestly thought that my family would think they were too tart and not really care for them.  I was wrong, completely!  They inhaled these just as fast as I did!

    WOW! Can you believe that I've only ever had lemon bars from a box? These look amazing! I will be trying to make these tomorrow!

  2. These look amazing! I am a fairly new fan to lemon desserts, but I love them best when they are a little on the tart side. I really had no idea lemon bars could be so easy. Pinned!
