Orange Moscato Sorbet

It's summer, sunny, and certainly hot here in Minnesota. I think the temps are in the upper 90's this week. Yikes! This is quite a difference from the normal winter and cold that we're used to. When the weather gets hot like this, we start looking for cool treats like ice cream, gelato and sorbet.
When you're a food blogger like I am, you start thinking outside the box with recipes. Combining some of your favorite flavors to create new and exciting creations is so much fun and tasty, too! If you've been here long, you know that Mirassou's Moscato is my favorite wine.
The other day when I was trying to stay cool, I thought a delicious Orange Moscato Sorbet would be amazing. The recipe turned out fabulous AND the best part is that you do not need to own an ice cream making machine to make this. Seriously! It's the perfect adult dessert option for your summer BBQ. Plus, it won't keep you tied up in the kitchen, so you can have more time sipping great wine and mingling with your guests under the sun.

How to make Orange Moscato Sorbet
Ingredients You Need
- ½ Cup Water
- ½ Cup Mirassou Moscato
- ½ Cup Sugar
- 2 Cups Fresh Orange Juice
Instructions
Step 1 - Make a simple syrup by bringing the water and sugar to a boil
Step 2 - Mix together the simple syrup, Mirassou Moscato and Orange Juice in a bowl
Step 3 - Pour the mixture into a bread pan and freeze overnight
Step 4 - Scoop and eat.
I created little bowls by cutting an orange in half and scooping out the inside. It turned out really cute!

Another great idea would be to place a scoop of the Orange Moscato Sorbet in a wine glass and pour a little more Moscato over top to make a float. I have to admit that I tried this and it was amazing!
Mirassou Moscato really captures the essence of summer with the intense fruit aromas of orange blossom, peach, ripe pineapple and citrus.
Of course this is why mixing Moscato with orange juice makes an amazing drink!
This Orange Moscato Sorbet made a great refreshing summer treat for my husband and me to share. I would imagine using any fruit flavor like watermelon; strawberries or raspberries would be delicious too!
