Can you believe it’s officially the start of fall? Ok, maybe it’s actually the unofficial start to fall but as soon as the kids are in school and September creeps in – I start to think about sweatshirts, pumpkins, hot cocoa and football games. Right?
To be honest, fall is my favorite time of year – especially in Iowa when the tree’s start to change colors and the temperatures are just about perfect. Sleeping with the windows open at night after you’ve spent the perfect night sitting outside on the deck. It just doesn’t get any better!
Something I like to treat myself with in the fall is a homemade Sangria, this weekend though, I had some frozen fruit that I decided to try and make a Red Wine Sangria Slush with and it turned out great. After my hubby and I each enjoyed one, we decided it would be the perfect drink at our next get together with friends. I can think of several people who would really enjoy it!
I think most people know that I have made several wine cocktails using Mirassou Moscato like our Watermelon Fizz and the Summer Wine Sparkler but you may not realize that I’m very fond of Mirassou Pinot Noir as well. I have found that it’s a great wine to make cocktails with as well, we’ve even used it in our Red Wine Hot Cocoa last winter!
When it comes to red wine,Mirassou Pinot Noir is a great option for pairing with different foods, using in cocktails or on its own.
How to Make Red Wine Sangria Slush
Ingredients You Need
1 Cup Mirassou Pinot Noir
3 Ounces Orange Liqueur
2 Cups Frozen Fruit – I used peaches, strawberries, mango and raspberries
1 Tablespoon Agave Syrup
Instructions
Blend all ingredients together in a blender until it’s a slush consistency and enjoy! This made enough for four servings.
If you’re having a fall party this year – be sure to add this recipe to your menu. It will be a huge hit!

My son took us to a Mexican restaurant in Houston that serves frozen sangria in the summer and it was fantastic!! They have a commercial size frozen drink maker but it could easily been made in a blender.
