Who here is looking for another simple slow cooker recipe? (Raises Hand) I feel like I’m always hunting, looking and even creating new slow cooker recipes to make for my family. Working at home can be crazy and even though I’m a food blogger, I still need easy recipes that help me get dinner on the table those days that I’m just swamped with work.
I have a simple five ingredient BBQ Chicken recipe to share with you, I actually made this into pulled chicken sandwiches that my boys loved. Check out the recipe below and my secret ingredient that makes this sweet and delicious!
When it comes to slow cooker recipes, my rule is that it must be only a few ingredients and when it’s time to eat, the meal is basically done. Like 90% finished, I don’t really like having to do a lot before we can eat. These are my favorite recipes for sure. This BBQ Chicken diffidently fits that description!
How to Make Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
Ingredients You Need
4 Chicken Breasts (mine were frozen)
1 1/2 Cup BBQ Sauce (I used an Apple Bourbon BBQ sauce)
1/2 Cup Italian Dressing
2 Tablespoons Truvia Brown Sugar Blend
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
Instructions
Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker
Mix the BBQ Sauce, Italian Dressing, Truvia Brown Sugar Blend and Worcestershire Sauce together in a bowl and pour over the chicken breasts
Cook on low for 6 – 8 hours
Right before serving shred the chicken breasts with a fork and serve on buns. Enjoy!
My secret ingredient for this recipe is the Truvia Brown Sugar Blend, it adds that sweetness to the slow cooker BBQ Chicken that really makes it amazing.
I know this isn’t a Thanksgiving recipe, but here’s the thing, we get so busy over the holidays focusing on the main meal that we often forget to thing about the company that will still be at our house on Friday and Saturday. Right? This recipe could even be used with left over turkey as another meal to sever company. OR, if you’re headed out Black Friday shopping, stick it in the slow cooker before you leave and dinner will be ready when you get home!
Having a stash of simple recipes to pull from at the holidays are just as important as making that one big fancy meal. You’ll thank me for this later!
