Chocolate Homemade Suckers
Disclosure: I am a Rodelle Ambassador and received product to facilitate this post.
I had no idea how easy it was to make homemade suckers but after finding a recipe in an old cook book I thought I would give it a try. Of course, I decided to change them up a bit and make Chocolate Honey Suckers, after all I had this AMAZING Rodelle Chocolate Extract at on my counter staring me in the face. It was screaming to be added to these little treats.
I'm so glad I added the chocolate to the homemade suckers, they ended up tasting like a Tootsie Roll! My boys inhaled them just as fast as I made them, next time we need to double the batch! Check out how easy they are to make!

How to Make Homemade Suckers
Ingredients You Need
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Water
- ⅓ Cup Honey
- 2 Teaspoons Rodelle Chocolate Extract

Instructions for making Homemade Suckers
Step 1 - Have a cookie sheet ready to go with parchment paper or Silpat lining it
Step 2 - Place the Sugar, Water and Honey into a pot and turn on medium heat
Step 3 - Stir until the sugar is dissolved
Step 4 - Once the Sugar is dissolved, place your candy thermometer into the candy mixture and turn the heat up to high
Step 5 - Let the sugar mixture reach 300 degrees without mixing
Step 6 - Pour the Sugar mixture very carefully into a glass bowl and quickly mix in the Chocolate Extract
Step 7 - Pour small circles of the mixture onto the cookie sheet and insert the sucker sticks
Step 8 - Let the suckers cool and harden. Enjoy!

This is what the suckers looked like, not perfect circles but we didn't care! They taste amazing!
