What perfect dessert do you make for your kids and guests this summer? We have the perfect solution. This recipe was actually the brain child of my oldest son – he asked me to make crispy treats but maybe brownies too. That was his exact request. Cocoa Puffs Brownies is the recipe that was born from this request and oh my stars are they good!
I happened to have a box of Cocoa Puffs on hand after General Mills had sent me a couple of our favorites to try out this summer and they seemed like a natural fit for this recipe.
I mean how can you go wrong with chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate? Right?! We ended up making these as a dessert when we had several family members over. I thought people may think I was a little weird with the combination, but everyone loved them and had seconds. WIN!!
Basically this recipe is our Fudge Brownies with a cup of Cocoa Puffs mixed in, a layer of thick milk chocolate frosting and topped with more Cocoa Puffs. The crunch of the cereal is really what makes this dessert stand apart from others. It’s a great addition to the brownies!
Another one of our favorite cereals is Reese’s Puffs, if you’re a big peanut butter lover this could be a great twist on this Cocoa Puffs Brownies recipe. Use a Peanut Butter frosting instead of the milk chocolate and you have a whole new recipe. I think this will be the next version of brownies that I make! YUM!
