Slow Cooker Soup Recipes: Tomato Tortellini Soup
There is nothing better than coming home in the evening to a slow cooker soup recipe that I decided to try making AND when it turns out beyond what I expected, I’m thrilled.
Ingredients to Make Tomato Tortellini Soup with Pesto
-
1 Family Size Can of Tomato Soup
-
2 Cups Milk
-
1 Cup Chicken Broth
-
2 Teaspoons Pesto
-
1 Pound Frozen Cheese Tortellini
-
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Instructions for Making Tomato Tortellini Soup with Pesto
Step 1 – Pour the tomato soup, milk, chicken broth and pesto into the slow cooker and cook on low for 3 hours
Step 2 – 30 minutes before you are ready to eat add the Frozen Cheese Tortellini to the soup and let it cook, if you put the tortellini in for the entire three hours it becomes mushy so wait until the end.
Adding a little bit of Pesto to the Tomato Tortellini Soup gave it a little bit more flavor, we love pesto at our house but if you don’t you can certainly leave it out of this recipe and it will still be delicious. My boys actually don’t like Pesto but in a soup like this, they hardly notice it.
Be sure to add some Parmesan on top of the soup before you serve, you can never go wrong with more cheese!
