Five Ingredient Cheerio Treats

March 23, 2016   |   1 Comment

Hey, guys!  Over the next few weeks the recipes that I’m making are going to be with mainly ingredients that I have in my house.  We’re moving soon and trying to use up food so we don’t have to move that much.

Last Thursday my boys were having sleepovers with friends and I was trying to figure out something quick and easy to make for them as a treat and after looking through the pantry I decided to make these Easy Five Ingredient Cheerio Treats!  There so yummy and very similar to our Gooey Peanut Butter Cereal Bars so be sure to check that recipe out too!

How to Make Five Ingredient Cheerio Treats

Ingredients You Need

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Corn Syrup
  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 Teaspoon Rodelle Vanilla
  • 5 Cups Cheerios

Directions

Step 1 – In a Sauce pan bring the sugar and corn syrup to a boil, stirring often

Step 2 – Allow the mixture to boil for a minute before removing from heat

Step 3 – Stir in the peanut butter and vanilla until it’s smooth

Step 4 – Pour the peanut butter mixture over the Cheerios and mix together well

Step 5 – Using a medium sized cookie scoop, form balls with the Cheerio mixture and place them on wax paper to cool.

Store in a air tight container, they will keep for several days!  Enjoy!

These are a great treat for young kids, teens, and adults too!  They’re pretty addictive so be sure to make a double batch if you’re making them for more than just a couple people!
