I participated in the National Pork Board program as a member of One2One Network. I received compensation but all opinions are my own.
Can you believe that Labor Day is only days away? The summer has flown by at our house and the kids have started school. Whether you’re hosting a backyard BBQ to celebrate the Labor Day weekend or planning the last summer hurrah with tasty ribs and chips, pork has you covered – no matter what grilling holiday is marked on your calendar. With so many cuts and preparation methods to try and endless flavor combinations to explore, pork is the must-have this grilling season.
How to Make Garlic and Honey Glazed Pork Chops
Ingredients You Need
- 4-6 Pork Chops
- 1/2 Cup Honey
- 4 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2 Garlic Cloves, pressed
- Salt & Pepper
Instructions
Step 1 – Mix together the honey, soy sauce and garlic in a small dish
Step 2 – Brush the olive oil over the pork chops and sprinkle with salt and pepper
Step 3 – Place the pork chops on the grill and brush the honey mixture over the top side
Step 4 – When you flip the pork chops over, brush the second side with the honey mixture
Grill for about 8 minutes on each side or until a thermometer inserted reads 170 degrees. Brush a final layer of the honey glaze over the pork chops before serving. Enjoy!
For tender, juicy and flavorful chips, cook them like a steak! The National Pork Board recommends that you cook pork chops to an internaltemperature between 145°F (medium rare) and 160°F (medium), followed by a three-minute rest, using a digital thermometer to ensure accuracy.
This Labor Day, Walmart is the ultimate source for your barbecue essentials and great pork deals on your grilling favorites like pork chops, bratwursts, pork burgers and ribs. Whenever we’re planning a party, Walmart is the first place that I head to for a great selection and prices!
If you aren’t already aware, several cuts of pork now match the name for cuts of beef for easier identification and preparation. Popular pork names to look for in the meat case include:
– Porterhouse Pork Chop (Previous name: Loin Chop)
– Ribeye Pork Chop, Bone-In (Previous name: Rib Chop Center)
– Ribeye Pork Chop (Previous name: Rib Chop)
– New York Pork Chop (Previous name: Top Loin Chop)
While serving up your pork dishes this Grilling Season, be sure to pick-up Smithland/Farmland {depending on market} pork chops and ribs at Walmart; every cut of their hand-trimmed extra tender fresh pork is proudly raised in the USA.
