When we go camping on the weekends during the summer, we take boxes of these along because they're an easy breakfast and my boys can grab them on the go out the door. I created this Homemade Pop Tart recipe and now I just make a couple batches up and load them in the camper before we head out. I put two in a sandwich bag and it's just as convenient as the store-bought version.
Our favorite flavors to make are strawberry, mixed berry and we make a cherry version that's amazing! It almost tastes like a little cherry pie but easier to eat!
My youngest loves to be in the kitchen helping me cook and these are something he LOVES to make! They're simple so he can really make them without much assistance! MOM WIN!!

Here's what you need to make Homemade Pop Tarts:
1 box Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust, softened as directed on box
1 small jar strawberry preserves
1 container of vanilla frosting
Sprinkles
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the pie crust and square the edges. Cut each crust into four or six rectangles.
Place 1 teaspoon of jam in the center of the rectangle and top with a second crust.
Crimp the edges to seal - I use a fork to do this.
Bake the pop tarts for about 10 minutes or until they are slightly browned.
After they have cooled, frost the top and add the sprinkles!
