Lemon Drop Margarita with Candy Lemon Peel
Hey, guys! I'm so excited to share this fabulous Lemon Drop Margarita recipe with you as well as some really cool products that you need to add to your kitchen!
With Cinco De Mayo just around the corner, I was starting to dream of Margarita's and how to create the perfect new recipe. It's no secret that I love lemon and thought I would try combing it with my favorite drink!
Last year I was introduced to a new kitchen gadget, the Crisp Zester. I knew that it was going to quickly become one of my favorite tools after the first time I used it. I can honestly say that I use this zester several times a week! It's fabulous! Let me show you how I used it in my recipe!

How to Make Lemon Drop Margarita with Candied Lemon Peels
Ingredients You Need for the Margarita
- 3 Cups Tequila
- 1 ½ Cups Lemon Juice
- 1 ½ Cup Lemon Simple Syrup
- Ice Cups
- Candied Lemon Peel (recipe below)
Directions
Stir all the ingredients together in a pitcher and serve over ice!
To rim the glasses in sugar, use a lemon around the edges to moisten it then dip the cup into sugar!

How to make Candied Lemon Peel
I first had these when my good friend Tina made them last Christmas, the recipe originally came from Martha Stewart!
What You Need
- 2 - Lemons
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Water
- Extra Sugar
- Crisp Zester
Directions
Step 1 - Using the Crisp Zester, carefully peel strips off of the lemon

Step 2 - Place the lemon zest in a sauce pan and cover with water, bring to a boil for 30 seconds
Step 3 - Strain the lemon zest with cold water and repeat the boiling process two more times
Step 4 - Place the sugar and water in the sauce pan and mix the sugar until it dissolves
Step 5 - Turn the heat to low and add the lemon zest, cook for an hour
Step 6 - Strain the zest and save the lemon simple syrup to use in the Lemon Drop Margarita
Step 7 - Toss the lemon zest in a bowl of sugar! Enjoy!

This Lemon Drop Margarita is the perfect recipe for Cinco De Mayo and it's simple to make! It's also a great girls night drink too! The candied lemon peels really make the drink a little extra special!
