Margherita Chicken Skillet Dinner

One of my very favorite meals is Margherita Pizza, I love the combination of fresh mozzarella and basil on a crisp crust.  I'm always looking for different ways to make this delicious recipe into something new to change it up but still keep my favorite flavors in it.

 How to make Margherita Chicken Skillet Dinner

Ingredients You Need

  • 2 Chicken Breasts, diced
  • 1 Can of Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 Can full of Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 ½ Cup Pasta
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • Fresh Basil

Instructions

Step 1 - Pour the olive oil and lemon juice in a pan and heat, add the diced chicken

Step 2 - After the chicken has browned and cooked well, add the diced tomatoes, water and pasta

Step 3 - Let it cook for about 20 minutes so the pasta gets soft

Step 4 - Add the garlic salt, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil and mix together.

Enjoy with a little more basil and mozzarella if desired!

I love this meal, not only because of how easy it was to make but because it's so amazingly delicious!  You cannot go wrong with pasta, chicken and cheese in my opinion!

  1. What size can of tomatoes did you use? I made this tonight and doubled the pasta so used a 28oz. Can diced tomatoes and about 3/4 of that size can of water. I also added some carmalized onion and crushed garlic. It came out quite tasty! I'm just wondering what size you originally intended for the recipe. Thanks!
