Today, I have two recipes to share with you, one is a recipe for homemade peppermint whipped cream, the other is a simple one to turn the whipped cream and your favorite brownie recipe into a Peppermint Brownie Trifle. If you need a delicious brownie recipe check out this one for Double Chocolate Homemade Brownies, it is tasty on its own or used in the Brownie Trifle.
Besides the fact that it is delicious, I love having DairyPure in my fridge because of their 5 point purity promise-
- No Artificial Growth Hormones

- Cold Shipped Fresh From Your Local Dairy
Ingredients:
1 cup DairyPure heavy cream
1 tsp. peppermint extract
2 T. granulated sugar
brownies
1-2 candy canes
Directions:
Place heavy cream in the freezer for 5-10 minutes while you gather your other supplies. Very cold cream will whip better. Place metal bowl in fridge or freezer as well to chill.
Place cold heavy cream, peppermint extract, and sugar in the bowl of your stand or hand mixer and whip on medium until your whipped cream begins to form semi stiff peaks.
Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, whisking by hand just before use.
Now, this Peppermint Brownie Trifle could not be easier. If you already have leftover brownies on hand you can use them (right, whoever has left over brownies?) If not make a batch of these Double Chocolate Homemade Brownies as your base. Crumble cooled brownies into small bite sized pieces.
Place candy canes or peppermint candies in a zippered bag and hit with a mallet or rolling pin until they are crushed.
Layer brownie pieces, peppermint whipped cream, and crushed peppermint in a pretty glass or mason jar.
Finish off with a sprinkling of crushed candy canes for a dessert that looks as good as it tastes.
