Take a minute and pretend it’s YOUR special day. Is it your birthday or anniversary? When you’re trying to decide what you want for your meal and dessert when it’s all up to you, what do you pick?
My vote is chocolate and wine. Who’s with me? Let’s be serious, who wouldn’t want those special treats any day of the year?
I’m about ready to blow your mind now. I combined them into the PERFECT dessert. Yep, I made a Pinot Noir Chocolate Cake. Did you squeal a little? Take a minute to pull yourself together and read how easy and amazing this recipe is!
How to Make Pinot Noir Chocolate Cake
Ingredients You Need
- 1 Chocolate Cake Mix
- 1/3 Cup Oil
- 1 Cup Mirassou Pinot Noir
- 3 Eggs
- Powdered Sugar
- Raspberries (or your favorite berry)
Instructions
Step 1 – Mix the cake mix, oil and Mirassou Pinot Noir together in a stand mixer
Step 2 – Add the eggs one at a time
Step 3 – Pour the cake mix into a well-greased bundt pan
Step 4 – Bake the Pinot Noir Chocolate Cake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean
Step 5 – After the cake has cooled, flip it upside down onto a plate and remove from the pan
Step 6 – Dust with powdered sugar and fill the middle with raspberries. Enjoy!
You can very easily use a chocolate cake mix that you make from scratch for this recipe too.
The cake was amazing with just a dusting of powdered sugar and some raspberries on top but if you want to treat yourself even more just add some whip cream and chocolate drizzle topping. Yum! Wouldn’t this be the best birthday cake every? I know I’ll be making it to share with a few friends this year!
To be honest with you, I’ve never been that excited about red wines. I’ve been a Moscato girl all the way, and still love my Mirassou Moscato, but after having the Mirassou Pinot Noir I have changed my thoughts completely about red wines. Not all red wines are created equal and I’m so glad that I gave Mirassou Pinot Noir a try, it’s quickly become one of my favorite wines! If you’re like me and haven’t found a great red wine, Mirassou Pinot Noir is very approachable so give it a try!
Did you see my post last month where I used Mirassou Pinot Noir in some amazing burgers with mushrooms and Gouda Cheese? Be sure to check it out! I’ve included a little more information about the Mirassou Pinot Noir below as well!
About Mirassou Pinot Noir
Mirassou Pinot Noir is a red wine that’s light bodied, approachable and appealing to many palates. The Mirassou family was the first to bring Pinot Noir grapes to America in 1854, they used potatoes to store the grape cuttings while coming over on a boat from France. I have heard this several times at events where Mirassou is present and I never get tired of hearing that story, it’s just amazing to think that’s how this fabulous wine started!
The grapes for Mirassou Pinot Noir are carefully selected from several of California’s most renowned regions, including Monterey County and Sonoma County. Pinot Noir has flavors of cherry, strawberry and red currant which are supported by light vanilla and oak notes.
