We're talking baskets full of fresh tomatoes!!  There was no possible way that I would be able to eat them all, my hubby and boys are not tomato eaters like me.

We decided to make a really easy recipe, slow cooker spaghetti sauce, with a bunch of the tomatoes.  If you have never made your own spaghetti sauce, you have to give it a try!  The sauce is delicious and it really makes your house smell yummy and feel warm when you making it.

When you're ready to use the sauce, simply cook your meat and mix in the spaghetti sauce just like you would with a store bought sauce.  Add the sauce to your noodles and enjoy!

We use this on our pizza too, it's really yummy!

  1. OMG. THANKS! BEST sauce I've ever tasted or made! I added one small (8 oz) can of tomato sauce at the end to thicken it a little bit and re-balanced the seasonings a tad after that addition. I made half the recipe, which gave almost 2 qt. of sauce. I was going to freeze one, but after we polished off the first quart, we went right to the second qt. 2 days later. I am making another half "go" today as my tomatoes are coming in faster and faster.

  2. Now this is just awesome- I have been wanting to do this for FOREVER. I know someone that will hook me up with some serious bounty next season- can't wait to try this then
