Valentine Pretzel Crunch

This quick and easy Valentine Pretzel Crunch treat is the perfect salty/sweet combination and makes a delicious little treat.  I've been making simple holiday treats for my kids using ingredients that I have around the house, ever since I started my Pantry Challenge, I've been searching my cabinets before running to the grocery store.

I had half a bag of pretzels and a few other yummy ingredients on hand (I did buy Valentine M&M's a couple weeks ago already, just after Christmas).  This made a great treat that would be a fun Valentine party favor or snack idea.

If you want to make these into Valentine favors, simply add a little into a treat bag and add a cute little cut out heart with a note.  This would be a great classroom treat or neighborhood goodie to hand out.

You could also add Valentine Conversation hearts to the mix and make it even more festive.  This is such a great treat, I love the salty and sweet combination.  Plus, it's so easy to make!

Even though my boys aren't big into Valentine's Day, if you put a treat like this in front of them they love it and it's gone pretty fast.

  1. Thanks for the inspiration! I added chex cereal with the pretzels, tinted 1/2 of the chocolate pink, divided mixture in 1/2 then proceeded with your instructions. Also added a handful of peanuts as my little guy loves them.

    1. I put mine in the microwave for 30 seconds then pull it out and stir if I can, then put it in another 30 seconds and repeat this process until there are still some chunks but not much. They will melt when you mix it up. The longest I ever microwave it for is 1 1/2 minutes with my microwave. Hope that helps!
