Pannukakku Finnish Oven Pancake

Pannukakku Finish Oven Pancake is a simple recipe with few ingredients! A light and airy pancake you bake in the oven and top with your favorite pancake toppings! This is a great recipe to make for the holidays or just a weekend brunch with the family!

One of my best friends has made this recipe for us so many times that I decided I needed to give it a try. It's so stinking easy that it's become our Saturday morning breakfast! It only requires a handful of ingredients and is ready in less than an hour!

Instead of flipping pancakes all morning, this is the perfect recipe!  You'll love how light and air it is too! I cannot wait to make a new version of this for the summer when we go camping (I'm always looking for new camping recipes)! I think it will be the perfect easy weekend breakfast!

We've make Oven Pancakes and Skillet Pancakes before but this recipe is my absolute favorite! I love how light it is, I never end up with that I'm so stuffed I can't move feeling after I eat! It's perfect with a side of bacon or sausage as well as some fresh fruit.

  • 1 All-purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ Stick Butter
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and let the ½ cup butter melt in a 9 x 13 pan. In a medium bowl mix together the flour, milk, eggs, and salt. Pour the egg mixture into the pan and bake for 35 minutes. It will get fluffy in parts of the pancake and then fall after you pull it out of the oven.

Top with maple syrup, powdered sugar, fruit or even whip cream! Enjoy! My bestie told me to use a drizzle of lemon on it, I haven't tried it but it sounds delicious!!

Tips for Making OVEN PANCAKE

Don't overbake the oven pancake but DO let the edges get a little crispy. I love that the outer edge of this pancake has a little bit of crisp to it will the center is light and airy.

This recipe has a similar consistency to french toast, it has a good amount of egg in it so they're very similar. It's actually more like french toast than a pancake!

Use any topping that you would on a pancake! I love fresh whip cream and fruit on mine! It's almost like a dessert then!  YUM!

ONLY use Butter! Don't use margarine in this recipe, you can absolutely tell the difference in the taste!

  1. When you post a recipe, kindly put the amount of flour needed and because Pinterest recipes appear in other countries as well as the U.S. rather than “a stick of butter” it should read the commonly known 1/2 cup. I grew up eating, “Ropsua”, it was a staple in our diet.
