Appetizer Recipes: Stuffed Mushrooms

December 27, 2013   |   Leave a Comment

Are you looking for a simple appetizer recipe to make for New Years Eve or maybe even for that family barbeque you’re having?  I have no problem admitting that one of my favorite foods is mushrooms, I know there are lots of people out there who do not enjoy this food but I am not one of those people.  I can eat them on and in everything.  So, of course Stuffed Mushrooms are one of my favorite appetizer recipes too.

These little Stuffed Mushrooms are full of some yummy cheese and bacon along with a few other ingredients.  They are simple to make, the hardest part is cooking the bacon otherwise it takes minutes to make.

How to Make Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 Package of Mushrooms (Any type will work)
  • 1/2 Pound Bacon
  • 1/4 Cup Italian Bread Crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Basil
  • 1/4 Cup Shredded Colby Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

Step 1 – Cook your Bacon and cut into small pieces, I Bake my Bacon in the Oven

Step 2 – Remove the stems from the Mushrooms and chop the stems into small pieces

Step 3 – In a medium sized bowl mix together the bacon, mushroom stems, bread crumbs, basil and both cheeses

Step 4 – Spoon about a tablespoonful of the mixture into the middle of the mushrooms

Step 5 – Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted

Stuffed Mushroom Apetizer

I’ve seen several different stuffed mushroom recipes, some with green bean casserole inside and even mashed potatoes!  I’ve made another version myself with cream cheese and other delicious ingredients.  This recipe is a bit lighter but still just as tasty!
