Simple Cake Mix Coffee Cake
It's FALL! That means it's time for everything with cinnamon, apples, and pumpkin! Right? While I was in Canada with my Mother-in-Law last month, we put together a simple Cake Mix Coffee Cake recipe using just a few ingredients that we had on hand in the cabin. It turned out so good that when I got home, I decided to make another one but changed it just slightly.
This Cake Mix Coffee Cake is the perfect recipe to make when you're having friends over for coffee, you need a quick dessert or just a snack. My boys loved it and have asked me several times to make it again in the last couple weeks!
How to Make Cake Box Coffee Cake
Ingredients You Need
- 1 Yellow Cake Mix
- 1 Box of French Vanilla Pudding
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Cup of Water
- 1 Cup Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar (we used white sugar in Canada and it worked)
Easy Glaze Topping
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
- 3 Tablespoons Milk
Instructions
Step 1 - Mix together the cake mix, pudding, eggs, water and oil until it's smooth
Step 2 - Pour the cake mixture into a greased 9x13 pan
Step 3 - Mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle it over the cake mixture
Step 4 - Bake the cake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven
Step 5 - After the cake is finished baking, mix together the glaze topping ingredients and drizzle it over the cake. Enjoy!
It doesn't get much easier than that for a coffee cake! We were so glad we had a yellow cake mix on hand to make this delicious breakfast! We even thought adding some apples might make it even more yummy. I may have to try that next time!
