Corn Bread is a side dish that I remember enjoying when I was a kid. My parents took us camping regularly and we would make Camp Fire Corn Bread every time we were out. It’s something we all looked forward to enjoying when we were camping together.
Today I have a delicious version of a Honey Corn Bread recipe that you are going to love. My friend, Jenn, shared this recipe with me and it will forever be my go to Corn Bread Recipe. It’s the perfect side that you could make to go with Chili, Slow Cooker Baked Potato Soup, Chicken Taco’s or even as a dessert because it is sweet enough.
You could easily make this recipe into Corn Bread Muffins, in a pie plate, or a normal square baker. Change it up for the meal or who you are serving. If you are having a BBQ with neighbors make Corn Bread Muffins for easy handling and eating. These would make a great addition to a 4th of July BBQ menu.
This is similar to my southern cornbread recipe. ? If you want a great crust, forget spraying the pan. Pour the oil called for in recipe into the pan. Place pan into oven to heat while oven is preheating. After adding milk to recipe, stir well to mix ingredients. Remove pan from oven. …being extremely careful slowly move the pan to slightly oil sides. Pour most of oil into batter and stir quickly to mix. Pour batter into pan and place in oven to bake.
Can you use a 10” Skillet instead of a 9”?
Does this work well in muffin cups? (It was terrific in the 9″ pan!)

This looks delicious! My husband is a HUGE cornbread fan – so I will have to try this recipe! I am doing a Thanksgiving Round-Up Series next week on my blog and I would love to share this recipe. Please email me if you are happy for me to include this recipe (and any other Thanksgiving delights you may have to share!) Ruth x
Im baking this right now and it smells SO delicious. I substituted the milk for buttermilk and used all clover honey for the sweetener. I can already tell these are going to be a staple. Thank you!

I hope that it turned out well for you, Brandy! It’s our favorite!
It calls for sugar how much?
You can use honey or sugar in this recipe so simply replace the honey for sugar if you would like to (same amount). Thanks so much for the comment!
Hi it says combine sugar with the flour. What sugar and when does the honey go in
Hi, Jenn! You can use Sugar or Honey in the recipe. You would use the same amount of either. Sorry! I left that part out! Thanks for letting me know!
This looks great! I am going to try it tonight! I was wondering how to do campfire cornbread for a camping trip next month or if you have any wisdom for making it on the grill for hot summer days?
