Sweet Honey Corn Bread Recipe

Corn Bread is a side dish that I remember enjoying when I was a kid.  My parents took us camping regularly and we would make Camp Fire Corn Bread every time we were out.  It's something we all looked forward to enjoying when we were camping together.

Today I have a delicious version of a Honey Corn Bread recipe that you are going to love.  My friend, Jenn, shared this recipe with me and it will forever be my go to Corn Bread Recipe.  It's the perfect side that you could make to go with Chili, Slow Cooker Baked Potato Soup, Chicken Taco's or even as a dessert because it is sweet enough.

You could easily make this recipe into Corn Bread Muffins, in a pie plate, or a normal square baker.  Change it up for the meal or who you are serving.  If you are having a BBQ with neighbors make Corn Bread Muffins for easy handling and eating.  These would make a great addition to a 4th of July BBQ menu.

We like to add a little more honey and butter on the top of our slice of Corn Bread while it is still warm from the oven.

  1. This is similar to my southern cornbread recipe. ? If you want a great crust, forget spraying the pan. Pour the oil called for in recipe into the pan. Place pan into oven to heat while oven is preheating. After adding milk to recipe, stir well to mix ingredients. Remove pan from oven. ...being extremely careful slowly move the pan to slightly oil sides. Pour most of oil into batter and stir quickly to mix. Pour batter into pan and place in oven to bake.

Im baking this right now and it smells SO delicious. I substituted the milk for buttermilk and used all clover honey for the sweetener. I can already tell these are going to be a staple. Thank you!

    1. You can use honey or sugar in this recipe so simply replace the honey for sugar if you would like to (same amount). Thanks so much for the comment!

    1. Hi, Jenn! You can use Sugar or Honey in the recipe. You would use the same amount of either. Sorry! I left that part out! Thanks for letting me know!
