Cheesy Garlic Bread Knots

How to Make Cheesy Garlic Bread Knots

Ingredients

¼ Cup Butter
1 Cup Milk
2 Tablespoons Active Dry Yeast
1 Tablespoon Honey
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Egg
3 ½ Cups Flour
4 Tablespoons Butter
1 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
1 Teaspoon Italian Seasoning
2 Tablespoons Shredded Cheese

Instructions

  • Step 1 - Preheat the oven to 400 Degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
    • Step 2 - Melt ¼ cup butter in a small saucepan
    • Step 3 - After the butter is melted add the milk and heat to 100 degrees
    • Step 4 - Place your yeast and honey in a bowl or stand mixer
    • Step 5 - After the milk mixture is at 100 degrees stir into the yeast and let sit for 10 minutes until it gets foamy
    • Step 6 - Add the egg and salt to the yeast mixture and combine
    • Step 7 - Add 3 cups of flour, then slowly add the last ½ cup until the dough balls and does not stick to the sides of the bowl
    • Step 8 - Use your dough hook and knead for 2 minutes or by hand for 5 minutes
    • Step 9 - Shape your dough into 12 - 14 knots and place on the cookie sheet
    • Step 10 - Let the dough rest for 10 minutes
    • Step 11 - Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until golden brown
    • Step 12 - While the knots are baking make your garlic butter by melting the 4 Tablespoons of butter and adding the seasonings
    Step 13 – After the knots come out of the oven brush with the garlic butter mixture and sprinkle with the shredded cheese. Enjoy!

  1. The rolls were fantastic and soooo easy to make. Shall try with different toppings and maybe brush with egg yolk or milk for a little colour? Mine were quite pale. Thanks again.

    1. You know, I mix a teaspoon of baking soda into a tablespoon of water then lightly brush that on top of my rolls when I want them to have that rich brown color. That is a secret trick of the trade from when I was a pretzel roller in high school.
